Biography
Dr Khong, whose formal background is in ergonomics and product design, is a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Creative Multimedia. In 2000 he established the 3D printing and rapid prototyping laboratory at the Faculty and has over 18 years of 3D printing experience. He also assisted in establishing the motion capture facility in 2000. Dr Khong also designed, created and established a usability resource at the faculty since 2004. He also restructured, managed and led the Interface Design department at the Faculty from 2004 till 2013. He was instrumental in promoting human factors and interaction, mobile design, interactive design, mobile app designs, screen simulation, and 3D simulation. In 2010, Dr Khong introduced and set up 3D scanning and digitisation at the faculty, and in 2013 he led a government-funded project in collaboration with University of Malaya to digitise and reproduce Orang Asli tangible cultural artefacts. In 2014 he was involved in a government initiative to introduce, implement and facilitate User Interface and User Experience (UI/UX) practices to local companies. Dr Khong is a panel member of assessors for the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), a member of Multimedia University's Accreditation Council, a member of the Malaysian Design Council (MRM) and a permanent steering committee member for the European-based Human Factors in Telecommunication.
