Biography
Dr. Siti Zakiah Bt. Melatu Samsi is a lecturer in Digital Business Management Department, Faculty of Business (FOB), MMU Melaka. Currently, she serves as the Dean of the Faculty.
She started her career in MMU since 2008 after completed her master’s degree in Information Technology – Management from UTM. She is currently teaching IT Service Management, Critical Thinking in Organizations and E-Business. She obtained her professional certificate in Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL v3) in year 2015. She obtained Graduate Technologist Certification from MBOT in 2018 and Certification from MASMED UiTM as Certified Small and Micro Business Advisor in 2019.
Most of her research contributions are in the area of Knowledge Management, Digital Business, entrepreneurship education and Islamic e-Tourism, Information Systems and Digital Education. She obtained few research funds from MMU internal grant (SFSCR, MMU Mini Fund, MMU IRFund as well as MMU Strategic Fund) and Ministry of Higher Education (FRGS). She has received 12 Innovation Awards from multiple innovation projects and competitions. She is currently appointed as one of Research Fellows in Shinawatra University, Thailand.
She was involved in multiple trainings, workshops and consultancy projects related to ICT and IT applications, digital business and marketing, students development as well as critical thinking and innovation. She has been assigned with multiple roles and responsibilites accross university including MMU Entrepreneur Development Centre (EDC) Associates, MMU Social Media Task Force, Quality Manager for FOB Quality Management team, FOB Quality Representative for MMU Quality Management System, Committee member for MMU Student Affairs Committee, Customer Experience Committee, Students Satisfaction Management Committee, MMU Education Value Chain as well as MMU Digitize Form Project. She was the Deputy Dean of Student Experience and Alumni FOB for 5 years before appointed as the Dean of the faculty.
She has received multiple performance recognition awards from the university including Best Mentor Award finalist 2018, The Most Intrapreneurial Staff Award 2019 and finalist for President Award (Individual Category) 2018. Her extensive experience in academic, research, and university leadership positions her as a flexible and productive individual with substantial accomplishments at MMU.
