Dr. Siti Zakiah Bt. Melatu Samsi currently serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Business (FOB) at Multimedia University (MMU) Melaka, where she is also Assistant Professor in the Digital Business Management Department.
She began her academic career at MMU in 2008, following the completion of her Master’s degree in Information Technology – Management from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). Dr. Siti Zakiah is recognized as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Digital Business, Qualitative Research Methods & Data Analysis, and Critical Thinking in Organizations and other digital courses offered at the Faculty of Business.
Her professional credentials include:
- ITIL v3 Certification (2015)
- Graduate Technologist Certification from the Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT) (2018)
- Certified Small and Micro Business Advisor from MASMED UiTM (2019)
Dr. Siti Zakiah’s research interests include Knowledge Management, Digital Business, Entrepreneurship Education, Islamic e-Tourism, Information Systems, and Digital Education. She has secured multiple research grants, including MMU internal grants (SFSCR, Mini Fund, IRFund, Strategic Fund) and national funding from the Ministry of Higher Education (FRGS). Her innovative work has earned her 12 Innovation Awards across various competitions and projects. She is also appointed as a Research Fellow at Shinawatra University, Thailand.
In addition to her academic and research contributions, Dr. Siti Zakiah has actively participated in numerous training programs, workshops, Knowledge Transfer Programme (KTP) and consultancy projects related to ICT applications, digital business and marketing, student development, and innovation. Her leadership roles within MMU include:
- Deputy Dean of Student Experience and Alumni (FOB) for 5 years (2018-2023)
- Associate at MMU Entrepreneur Development Centre (EDC)
- Member of MMU Social Media Task Force
- Quality Manager and Representative for FOB in MMU’s Quality Management System
- Committee member in various university-level initiatives and committee including MMU Senate, Student Affairs Committee, Academic Development Committee, Customer Experience, Student Satisfaction, Education Value Chain, and the MMU Digitize Form Project
Her dedication and impact have been recognized through several performance awards, including:
- Best Mentor Award Finalist (2018)
- Most Intrapreneurial Staff Award (2019)
- President Award Finalist – Individual Category (2018)
- Service Persona Award - TM CX Summit 2025.
With a strong foundation in academia, research, and university leadership, Dr. Siti Zakiah is known for her versatility, productivity, and commitment to excellence at MMU.
