Biography
Dr. Yvonne Lee obtained her Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons.) Economics with Multimedia from Multimedia University under the Multimedia Scholarship Foundation (MSF) scholarship and Master of Arts (International Development) from Flinders University, South Australia under the Colombo Plan Commemorative Scholarship. She completed her doctoral thesis in economy growth and social capital at Multimedia University in 2014. Dr. Yvonne Lee has been an academician for a total of seventeen years. Earlier in her career, Dr. Lee worked in the area of management consulting and international markets at Accenture. Currently, she is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Management and also the Deputy Director at Strategy and Quality Assurance department. She is also the Chief Risk Coordinator for the university and Data Manager for the Multimedia University-Department of Statistics Malaysia (DoSM) collaboration.
Dr. Yvonne Lee has published book chapters, SCOPUS- and WoS-indexed journal articles and presented in local and international conferences. She won the Best Paper Award at the International Conference on Business and Economics 2017. Dr. Yvonne Lee has also led or was a project member of various national research grant projects totalling close to RM500,000. Apart from teaching and publication, Dr. Lee has also shared her knowledge on smart cities and income inequality with local and international industry practitioners at DoSM webinar, Smart Digital Nations, Cities and Communities (SDNCC) Master Class, as well as twice for the Innovative Governance of Large Urban Systems (IGLUS) Kuala Lumpur Module by the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) . She has been involved in training and consultancy work with both the public and private sectors in telecommunication as well as oil and gas industries. She consulted and trained in the areas of future network technologies, smart cities, data analysis, qualitative analysis, office productivity software, customer services software solutions, and organisational change management. Her research interests are the digital economy, social capital, and development economics – focussing on gender and income inequality.
