Ts. Dr. Heidi Tan is an assistant professor in the Advertising Design programme and currently serves as the Deputy Dean of Academic and Innovative Learning at the Faculty of Creative Multimedia, Multimedia University, Malaysia. Her PhD focused on problem-solving learning environments and Authentic Learning strategies supported by Creative Multimedia Technologies. She was the Project Leader of an external grant project funded by the Ministry of Higher Education (FRGS) and has previously lead two other external grants funded by TM R&D and Knowledge Transfer Programmes (KTP). Her research interests include problem-solving learning, student-centred learning, interactive multimedia applications, authentic learning, multimedia in education and web-based learning and instruction. She has previously held the following positions: Deputy Director of ADEPT (Office of Academic Development for Excellence in Programmes and Teaching), Programme Coordinator of the Postgraduate by Research programmes (MSc & PhD), Programme Coordinator of the Masters of Multimedia in Digital Learning, Chairperson of the Centre for Adaptive Multimedia, Education and Learning Content Technologies (CAMELOT) research centre, senior researcher and creative coordinator of The MILE Research Lab, head of the faculty's MOOC team, member of the faculty's web & editorial committee, and member of the university's BLEND initiative.
