Biography
Dr. Ng Yin Hoe is an Associate Professor with Faculty of Engineering in Multimedia University. He received his Bachelor of Engineering (first-class honors), Master of Engineering Science, and Ph.D. from Multimedia University in 2004, 2008, and 2013, respectively. He is a Chartered Engineer (CEng) registered with Engineering Council United Kingdom and Professional Technologist (P.Tech) registered with Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT).
Dr. Ng is a telecommunication engineering expert and consultant with over 18 years of experience in research, lectures and practice. As the lecturer in Multimedia University, he has coordinated and taught various postgraduate and undergraduate subjects. He also actively supervises Ph.D. and Master research students. At present, he supervises 3 Ph.D. students. Apart from teaching, Dr. Ng has been playing significant roles in administrative duties. He was the programme coordinator of Master of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and currently he is the programme coordinator of Master of Science in Engineering Business Management.
Dr. Ng's current research interests are in the fields of wired and wireless communications, machine learning, and data analytics. He is the project leader and member for several research grants amounting to RM721200. Most of his recent research projects are related to machine learning and data analytics. His research expertise established has resulted in invitations to provide consultancy services to many multi-national companies. He has carried out many consultancy projects for telecommunication company which led to the development of virtual signal-integrity verification tool. He has also served as a research fellow and technical consultant to Telekom Research & Development Sdn. Bhd. In addition, he also play a key role in establishing collaboration between industries and academia. As of today, he has authored more than 20 publications in international peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Ng has been actively contributing to the engineering community at the international and national levels. He has served as the chairman of Ecolabelling Product Criteria Document Working Group under SIRIM STS Sdn Bhd and he is a member of IMT & Future Networks Working Group. Besides that, he is currently serving as Editorial Board Member of International Journal of Engineering Research in Electronics and Communication Engineering (IJERECE), Chief Editor, International Advisory Board Member, Organizing Committee Member, and National Advisory Committee Member for numerous prestigious international conferences. He also actively contributes as a technical reviewer for various distinguished international journals and international conferences.
