Dr. Tan Wooi Haw holds a Ph.D. in Engineering from Multimedia University. He is a highly qualified and experienced educator with expertise in cutting-edge technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Throughout his career, he has successfully delivered various government and privately funded projects. His research is widely published in international journals, presented at conferences, and featured in book chapters. Additionally, Dr. Tan is also the co-author of two textbooks on microcontroller systems. He shares his vast knowledge through courses in electronics, embedded system, artificial intelligence, and computer networking at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Dr. Tan is actively engaged in designing and developing hardware prototypes for IoT-based embedded systems, along with software systems for machine learning and deep learning. His consistent involvement in consultancy for various industries on IoT and AI applications has contributed significantly to practical solutions and bridging of academia-industry gaps. As a HRDC-accredited trainer, he conducts highly sought-after training sessions and workshops for industries, especially in the areas of IoT and AI technologies. Dr. Tan is also a regular participant in renowned competitions such as ITEX, PECIPTA, and MTE, where he has received numerous awards and accolades for his innovative works.
