Biography
Putri joined the Faculty of Laws at Multimedia University (MMU), Malaysia as a Lecturer in June 2015. Her main research interests lie in company law, corporate governance and comparative corporate governance.
Putri is currently finishing her PhD at University College London under the supervision of Dr Marc Moore and Dr Iris Chiu. Her PhD studies is being funded by Yayasan Khazanah under the Khazanah Global Scholarship Programme. Her doctoral thesis examines Corporate Governance in light of ownership structure beyond the traditional principal-agent system. Using Malaysia as a reference point, she argues that there is a limited scope for different ownership structure towards shareholders protection. Putri received her LLB from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and LLM in International Trade and Commercial Law (Distinction) from Durham University, UK.
Prior to commencing her graduate research, Putri was a lecturer at Universiti Teknologi MARA (Kelantan) Malaysia where she taught Commercial Law, Law of Partnership and Company Law. She also practiced as a litigation and corporate lawyer in Malaysia for four years dealing with commercial matters ranging from civil litigation cases and corporate transactions. Putri also has experienced in designing her own course with The Brilliant Club, UK and delivered it through university-style tutorials to pupils in non-selective state schools across London.
Appreciating the academic interaction, Putri have presented at various conferences both locally and internationally, such as, Japan, U.K, the Netherlands and also the U.S. She was also a co-recipient the Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS) for the study of 'Is There a Need of Regulatory Competition For an Effective Merger Control in Malaysia' (2009).
