Lew Sook Ling received her PhD from Multimedia University (MMU), Malaysia, in 2013 and has been with MMU since 2001. She is currently an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Information Science and Technology (FIST), MMU, and serves as the Programme Coordinator for the Master of Information Technology (MIT) – Open Distance Learning (ODL) programme. She is a Senior Member of IEEE, USA, a Professional Technologist registered with the Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT), and a certified and accredited trainer with the Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp), Malaysia.
Her research interests include educational technology, data analytics, applied artificial intelligence (AI), human-centred computing, cybersecurity, and AI-based image and geospatial analysis, with applications in education, healthcare, business, and agriculture.
Lew has published more than 50 peer-reviewed indexed papers, including publications indexed by Scopus and Web of Science. She has also obtained research funding from internal and external sources, with research outputs including publications, copyrights, patents, and awards and recognition from international and national innovation exhibitions and competitions, as well as institutional academic excellence and innovation programmes.
Her academic contributions include serving as a Principal Editor for Scopus-indexed book collections and MMU Press publications, undertaking conference organising and leadership roles, and serving as an invited speaker, editorial board member, assessor, jury member, and reviewer for journals, conferences, books, academic programmes, and research-related activities.
