Biography
Dr. Yip Sook Chin has 16 years of working experience in the areas of electronics and electrical engineering. Her working experience ranges from manufacturing to education, which has exposed her to vocations such as manufacturing engineer, researcher, trainer, and lecturer.
Besides holding a senior lecturer position, Sook Chin is also the deputy director of the Center for Learning Excellence and Academic Intelligence (LEARN), Multimedia University. She constantly looks into the strategic and operational oversight on program, teaching, and learning innovation to keep abreast with the development in higher education and ensure the University is well ahead of the competitors and trendsetters. In addition, as the subject matter expert, she is responsible for the preparation, development, and implementation of learning strategies, space, management systems, processes, and networks that support academic outcomes for a better student learning experience.
Sook Chin has delivered training on Awareness of Cybersecurity for the Protégé Training Programme. She has also conducted various international conference technical workshops on optimization, data analytics, and cybersecurity. In addition, Sook Chin has several grants and publications in optimization, cybersecurity, power system protection, data analytics, and wireless communications fields in research and development.
She is an HRDF-certified trainer. She is also a Microsoft Certified Educator (MCE). In addition, she possesses several networking-based certifications, which include Huawei Certified Datacom Associate Huawei Network Technology and Device (HCDA-HNTD).
