Dr. Yip Sook Chin is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence and Engineering (FAIE), Multimedia University (MMU), with 18 years of diverse experience in electronics and electrical engineering. Her career spans manufacturing and education, where she has served in various capacities, including manufacturing engineer, researcher, trainer, and lecturer.
Dr. Yip is actively involved in research and development, with notable contributions in optimisation, cybersecurity, power system protection, data analytics, and wireless communications. She has secured several research grants and has published extensively in these areas. In addition to her academic responsibilities, she has conducted technical workshops at international conferences and delivered training sessions, including the "Awareness of Cybersecurity" module for the Protégé Training Programme.
Committed to educational excellence and professional development, Dr. Yip holds several certifications: she is a Certified Officer in Quality Assurance of Higher Education Training Programme Tier 3 (External Quality Assurance at the Regional Level), an HRDF-certified trainer, and a Microsoft Certified Educator (MCE). She also holds industry-recognised networking certifications, including the Huawei Certified Datacom Associate in Network Technology and Device (HCDA-HNTD).
