Ms. Salmi is an academician in the Quantitative Methods Unit, Faculty of Management (FOM). She obtained her Master of Applied Statistics from the University of Malaya (UM) in 2010 and a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) in Actuarial Science from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in 2006.
Since joining the higher education sector in 2011, Ms. Salmi has been actively involved in teaching quantitative courses, including applied statistics and mathematics, across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including the MBA programme. She is committed to equipping students with analytical and quantitative skills applicable to business and management.
In addition to teaching, Ms. Salmi is an experienced data analyst with strong expertise in statistical data analysis using SPSS. Since 2012, she has contributed as a data analyst in numerous internal and external research and consultancy projects, applying statistical methods to support evidence-based decision-making.
Her research interests include applied statistics in the social sciences, mathematics education, and health behaviour. She has presented and published several conference proceedings in these areas and continues to pursue research that integrates statistical methodologies with real-world applications.
