Mr Ridhwan earned his Degree in Film and Animation in 2009 from Multimedia University. He also earn advance Certificate in Filmmaking from London Film Academy. Back in 2008, as he started to explore visual effects and animation industry, he joined MFX Sdn. Bhd as a Rotoscoping Artist/Background Preparation/Jr. Compositor.He then joined TIGER TIGER Sdn. Bhd. in 2009 and worked on a few TVCs and feature films. In late 2009, Ridhwan was hired by an Award-Winning Visual Effects Studio, Rhythm & Hues Malaysia as BgPrep Artist and then eventually promoted as a Compositor.
He spent a good 4 years working with the best talent pool around the globe. Moreover, he also learned the intricate process of producing high quality and detailed visual effects works under the guidance of his India & Los Angeles peers. He’s been credited with more than 10 Hollywood movies while working at Rhythm & Hues, which one of the movies won an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects – ‘Life of Pi’ in 2012. The local team of ‘Life of Pi’ also received a Special Achievement Award at the 25th Malaysian Film Awards by Filem Negara Nasional (FINAS). He also contributed his knowledge in National Occupational Skill Standards (NOSS) as an industry panel and later in the same year, as a presenter (2013).
Apart from that, he also received a number of awards for a short film that he was involved in 2009, which won Astro NextGen Award 2009 (Most Extraordinary Shorts), Astro NextGen Award 2009 (Best Visual Effects), APICTA 2009 (Finalist), and also has been nominated in Top 10 Autodesk Best Computer Graphics (CGI). He also won Best Visual Effects in Asia Pacific Film Festival 2018 for the local film Interchange and it gave validation and acknowledgement that would push the company heading towards the right direction and pushes them to elevate further.
