   Biography

Dr. Syed Qamrun Nisa is a computer science researcher and academician with a strong background in Deep Learning and Medical image analysis. Dr. Nisa holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), with a research focus on optimizing deep neural networks to enhance the segmentation of medical images, contributing to advancements in automated diagnosis systems and intelligent healthcare technologies. Dr. Nisa's academic qualifications also include a Master of Computer Applications from the Islamic University of Science and Technology, Awantipora, India, and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Applications from the University of Kashmir, India.

Dr. Nisa’s research work has been published in multiple reputable international journals and conferences. Notable publications include studies on U-Net and ResNet architectures for medical image segmentation, deep convolutional networks for gastrointestinal polyp detection, and generative adversarial networks for handling imbalanced medical data.

Involvement in various extracurricular and leadership roles includes Dr. Nisa’s service as Secretary General of the Postgraduate Student Society at IIUM and contributions to the organization of several postgraduate colloquiums. Participation in the IEEE Student Branch at IIUM as part of the social media team further highlights Dr. Nisa’s active engagement beyond academia.
