Biography
Professor Dr. Abdul Mohaimin bin Noordin Ayus was born in Sitiawan Perak on 20th August 1951. He is currently with the Faculty of Law, Multimedia University, Melaka Campus, Melaka, Malaysia. He graduated with Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) (Hons.) degree in 1987, Master of Comparative Law (MCL) degree in 1989 and postgraduate Diploma in Shariah Law and Practice (DSLP) in 1995 from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). He obtained his Ph.D (Law) degree from University of Aberdeen (Scotland) in 1993.
He has, since 1988, taught various Private and Public Law, as well as, Shariah courses at IIUM (Malaysia); Maldives National University (MNU) (Maldives); and Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University (UNISSA) (Brunei Darussalam). Whilst in the service of these institutions, he had also served as Deputy Dean (Student Affairs), Director of the Law Center, and Dean of Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws IIUM; an Adviser to the Faculty of Shariah and Law MNU; Head of Law Programme and Dean of the Faculty of Shariah and Law UNISSA.
Dr. A. Mohaimin Ayus is particularly passionate about the law of contract which has led him to write and publish a 3-volume book entitled Law of Contract Law in Malaysia published by Sweet & Maxwell Asia. His other area of fascination is Shariah-in-context matters in which he has been very much involved in writing papers and delivering public lectures and seminars at international and national levels in Brunei Darussalam and at state level in Malaysia. He has also published various journal articles throughout his career.
