Prof. Mardeni Roslee is an academician at Faculty of Engineering, Multimedia University since 2008 and the CEO/main founder of Armada Smart Tech MR Sdn Bhd. His current research interests are 5G/6G telecommunication, D2D, V2V, UAV, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things and radar communication. In administration, he appointed by University as a Chairman of Centre of Wireless Technology, Centre of Excellence (CoE) since 2017, Deputy Director of Research Management Centre MMU in 2020-2022 and Deputy Director of Research Insititute of Digital Connectity in 2019-2020. He elected as President of MMU Staff Association (MESRA), Multimedia University. In professional association, he has been elected as Chair of Institute of Electrical and Electronics (IEEE) Communication Society/Vehicular Technology Society (COM-VT) in 2019-2020 and serves as Vice-Chair of Malaysian Society for Engineering & Technology (MY SET). He is a registered Chartered Engineer with Engineering Council United Kingdom, and Member with The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), UK and a Senior Member IEEE (SMIEEE). He is a certified HRDF trainer and certified Train for Trainer under Huawei and MDEc. He appointed as a Guest/Visiting Professor at 6 abroad Universities such as at Australia, India, Turkey, Pakistan and New Zealand. He successfully supervised 50 Postgraduate students (PhD & Masters) in MMU as main supervisor, and also been appointed as external thesis examiner for 20 PG candidates from several higher institutions, locally and abroad. He has Publication of 227 papers for indexed journals, conference proceedings, professional magazine and book chapters. He is the principle investigator for 34 project Grants under the local and international funding bodies namely Uprinom Nig Ltd Fund, Malaysian Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE), TMNRD, Hadhari Cattle Sdn Bhd, and many more at national and international Grant level with total RM6.9 million or 1.6million USD. He has been involved in local and international industry Consultation with some companies such as for Libya, Nigeria, Kazakhstan, TM, Celcom, Webe Digital, Sony EMCS, Plexus Sdn Bhd, Aexio Sdn Bhd, MDEC, Ministry of Housing & Local Government, etc. He also shared his vision in the telecommunication related field through invited and keynotes speech during the conference. He was invited as Keynote Speaker for 31 International conferences and been invited by IEEE international conference as Invited Speaker at 16 countries such as at Thailand, China, Australia, Korea, Indonesia, Singapore, Japan, French, United Kingdom, Spain, Canada, New Zealand, Romania, India and Turkey for 2009-2023. He has hold as General Chair of conference for 14 conferences such as IEEE ICECCE24, IEEE ICEET22, DIFCON21, IEEE MICC21, IEEE ICECCE21, IEEE ISTT20, IEEE MICC2019 and many more and high committees for 40 International conferences such as at Bahrain, Turkey, Italy, Canada, Spain and many more since year 2010. He has appointed by Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia as National Panel, as external Auditor, of Malaysia Research Assessment (MyRA), and also appointed as National Panel, Research Evaluation Steering Committee by Selangor Islamic Religious Council (MAIS), 2022 – 2025. he is the recipient of more than 90 research Awards locally and internationally. He is the recipient of IEEE VTS Chapter of the Year Award 2017 from Canada, Excellence in European Creativity Special Award 2018 from Romania, World Invention Special Award 2019 from World Invention Intellectual Properties Association (WIIPA), Outstanding Researcher Award 2020 from USA, Outstanding Large Chapter Award for 2019 and 2020 from IEEE, Top Research Scientist in Malaysia 2020 from Academy of Science Malaysia (ASM), Ministry of Science and Innovation, Malaysia, 2021 IEEE Malaysia Outstanding Volunteer Award from IEEE and Leave a Nest Global Challenge Award 2022, Best Researher Award by International Award on Sensing Technology, 2023, Best ICT Innovation, from Japan Intellectual Property Association (JIPA) at International Innovation Awards 2024, Research Excellence Award 2024 awarded by Institute For Educational Research and Publication including the University Excellent Researcher Award for 3 years, which are 2016, 2018 and 2024 from MMU, respectively. His contributions to academic and the engineering professional over the years have earned him recognitions globally where in year 2025, he is elected as Fellows of Academy Science Malaysia (ASM) which bring the title (FASc) from Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, Malaysia. Fellow of the Malaysian Academy of Sciences is the highest recognition given Malaysian Government.to the best scientific minds which made outstanding contributions in fields globally.
