Biography
Dr. Thong Li Wah is an award-winning researcher and Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Multimedia University, Malaysia. Her research interests include vibration energy harvesting, piezoelectricity, Internet of Things (IoT), engineering education, teaching and learning strategies, blended learning, and digital learning. She actively involves in securing competitive grants and publications in the areas of engineering and education technologies for research and development.
Apart from partaking the duties as a Assistant Professor, she is also the Learning Specialist in the Center for Lifelong Education and Learning Innovation (LEARN), Multimedia University. Her works involves managing and formulating the strategies and standards for teaching and learning innovations, programs, educational technologies, and blended learning model for the University with the aim to strive ahead and be the trendsetter in tertiary education.
Dynamic and passionate in exploring the connection between innovation and relationships for learning, she establishes collaborations with external corporations and stakeholders to strategize optimum learning environment and innovations. She also manages and implements creative spaces for hybrid learning in the University to support both online and physical learning in real time for better student learning experience.
As the Teaching and Learning Agent of the University, she conducts corporate trainings on tools for digital learning, blended learning, Team-based learning, Google Apps for Education, and OpenLearning as well as passionately empowers staffs to develop lifelong learning attitude in keeping up with the globally fast-evolving education field.
Li Wah is an HRDF and Google Educator certified trainer. She is also AKEPT certified for the e-Learning programme, a Microsoft Educator for the Teacher Ambassador Program, and a TRIZ Level 1 practitioner. In addition, she holds certification for Team-based Learning Collaborative (TBLC) Fundamentals and is recognized as Microsoft Certified Educator (MCE).
