Ir. Lee Lian Hong Profile:
Ir. Ts. Dr. Lee Lian Hong received his PhD in 2024 from the University of Malaya. He obtained his Professional Engineer (Ir.) title in Electronics in 2014, and his Professional Technologist (Ts.) certification in 2019. His PhD research focused on photonic fiber lasers, while his Master's research was in the field of high-speed photonic access networks. He is currently a lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Multimedia University.
He has been involved in consultancy work for High-Speed Broadband (HSBB) projects, particularly in setting up physical layouts and standard testing procedures. Through fiber cable testing, he is able to assess the condition of fiber connections between central offices and customer premises, and can accurately detect issues such as cable breaks or high bending losses.
In addition, he is a certified trainer for commercial optical simulation software such as OptiSystem and OptSim, and has conducted training sessions at various universities and research centers.
At the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, he teaches subjects related to fiber optic access networks, including Optoelectronics and Optical Communications.
