Biography
Justin Johari has over 10 years’ experience in-house at a Collective Management Organization (a member of the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers or CISAC). He was called to the Malaysian Bar in 2006 and served as an Advocate & Solicitor in several reputable legal firms in the Kuala Lumpur. As Acting General Manager of MACP, he built a strong network of copyright licensees with annual fees in excess of RM50M. His clients include Google (YouTube), Spotify, Apple, Facebook, Astro and Media Prima. With an excellent track record for cultivating close relationships, he is well-known by representatives of International Collecting Societies, Government Ministries (Consumer & Domestic Affairs, Multimedia & Communications) and Agency (Intellectual Property Office), whilst representing the rights of over 4000 stakeholders and rightsholders.
