Dr. Junaidi Abdullah is a Professor at the Faculty of Computing and Informatics (FCI), Multimedia University (MMU), Malaysia, with extensive leadership and research experience in higher education and emerging digital technologies.
He served as the Dean of FCI (2021–2025), where he led strategic academic and research transformation initiatives, and previously held key leadership roles including Deputy Director of the Research Management Centre (2017–2021) and Deputy Dean (Academic) of FCI (2008–2011), contributing significantly to the faculty’s academic excellence and research growth.
Dr. Junaidi obtained his Bachelor of Engineering (First Class Honours) from the University of Bristol, UK, and completed his PhD in Computer Science at the University of Southampton, UK in 2005, specialising in Computer Vision and Augmented Reality.
He also led the Assistive Technology Special Interest Group under the Centre for Image and Vision Computing (CIVC), reflecting his commitment to inclusive and applied technology innovation.
His research expertise spans augmented reality, computer vision, and image and video processing, with a strong emphasis on real-world applications in immersive and intelligent systems. He has authored over 100 internationally peer-reviewed publications, including conference papers, journal articles, and book contributions across multidisciplinary domains.
