Dr. Jun-Jiat Tiang earned his Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering from Multimedia University, Malaysia. He subsequently obtained a Master’s degree from the University of Science, Malaysia, and a Ph.D. from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). His industrial experience includes serving as an Electronics Engineer with the Global Technology Development Group at Motorola Technology Sdn. Bhd., Penang (May 2006 – May 2007), and as a Design Automation Engineer in the Chipset Structural Design Team at Intel Microelectronics (M) Sdn. Bhd., Pulau Pinang (September 2004 – July 2005). Currently, he is an Assistant Professor and researcher at the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence and Engineering, Multimedia University, Malaysia. His research interests include RFID systems, microwave circuits, antenna design, and electromagnetic wave propagation. Dr. Tiang has received notable recognition for his contributions to innovation and research, including a Gold Medal at the 23rd International Invention, Innovation and Technology Exhibition (ITEX) 2012, and a Silver Medal at the Malaysian Technology Expo (MTE) 2013, both held in Kuala Lumpur. He has led various research projects supported by national funding bodies such as the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), FRGS, Mini Fund, and TM R&D. In addition to his research work, he served as an editor for a book chapter in Recent Advancements in Engineering and Technology, published by MMU Press, Malaysia. In 2025, he was appointed as a Topic Editor for Frontiers.
