   Biography

Ts. Dr Low Jing Hong is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Management at Multimedia University (MMU), Malaysia. An experienced academic leader and digital-learning specialist, he previously served as Dean of the Faculty of Management, Deputy Director of the Centre for Learning Excellence and Academic Intelligence (LEARN), Deputy Director of Academic Development for Excellence in Programmes and Teaching (ADEPT), and Head of the Information Technology and Law unit.

Dr Low has played an important role in supporting digital teaching and learning at MMU. He previously served as a blended-learning and G Suite for Education trainer and was formerly a Certified Google Educator. In recognition of his professional expertise and contributions to technology, he was awarded the title of Professional Technologist (Ts.) by the Malaysia Board of Technologists in 2019.

Dr Low’s research focuses on innovative digital-technology applications and their adoption, particularly AI-empowered and personalised learning, blended and digital learning environments, and learning-management systems. His broader research interests encompass business analytics, technology-adoption modelling, digital transformation, machine learning, digital media, and data-driven decision-making. His recent scholarly work has explored AI-driven personalised learning, technology adoption in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), digital-transformation effectiveness, and post-pandemic consumer behaviour.

Dr Low has participated in at least 10 externally and internally funded research projects recorded in MMU’s Research Management System. He served as project leader for three projects, including two Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS) projects and a Telekom Malaysia Research and Development (TM R&D) project. His wider funding experience encompasses projects supported by FRGS, TM R&D, MMU’s IR Fund, and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC). He also contributed to an MCMC-supported digital-content initiative on the interactive representation of Chinese-character evolution. These experiences demonstrate his ability to contribute to multidisciplinary research, industry-linked innovation, and the practical application of digital technologies.

Dr Low earned his PhD from Multimedia University, where his doctoral research developed an innovative visualisation-and-association framework for learning Chinese characters. He received his Master of Engineering in Media Engineering from Soongsil University, South Korea, under the Korean Government’s Brain Korea 21 (BK21) scholarship. He also holds a Bachelor of Information Technology, majoring in Data Communication, from Multimedia University.

Beyond academia, Dr Low is actively involved in professional training, consultancy, and knowledge commercialisation. His areas of expertise include generative and applied AI, digital productivity and office technologies, spreadsheet modelling, programming for business analytics, big-data applications, and data analytics. He has delivered training and professional-development programmes for organisations including ASUS Malaysia, Khazanah Nasional Berhad, and Telekom Malaysia Berhad.

Through his combined experience in academic leadership, funded research, teaching innovation, and industry engagement, Dr Low is committed to advancing the responsible and practical application of AI and digital technologies in education and business.
