   Biography

Mr. Iylia Hakim Bin Abdul Wahid is Law Lecturer at the Faculty of Law at Multimedia University (MMU), Mealaysia. He began his journey in the legal world back in 2015 when he was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya. In 2016, he founded his own practice, Messrs. Hakim Abdul Wahid & Co., which initially focused on criminal cases but later expanded into a multifaceted legal firm specializing in real estate law, corporate law as well as in other legal areas.

Throughout his career as an Advocate & Solicitor, Mr. Iylia Hakim has handled a diverse range of matters includig but not limited to civil and criminal litigation, probate, conveyancing, running down, family law, and corporate law. He has had the opportunity to represent clients in various courts, from the Magistrates Court all the way to the Federal Court of Malaysia, the country’s highest court.

Mr. Iylia Hakim embarked on his academic career in 2022 as a part-time lecturer at his alma mater, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). Over the course of his tenure, he taught Law to students from various faculties in UiTM; Faculty of Hotel & Tourism Management, Faculty of Accounts, Faculty of Applied Science, and Faculty of Business. This experience revealed a deep passion for teaching, something Mr. Iylia Hakim had never anticipated but quickly embraced.

In 2024, after 9 years of practicing as an Advocate & Solicitor, Mr. Iylia Hakim made a significant career shift by transitioning from legal practice to the corporate world, joining TIME Dotcom Berhad, a Government-linked telecommunications company, as the company's Lead Litigation Legal Counsel.

Now fully focused on teaching, Mr. Iylia Hakim finds joy in the classroom, stating that there has never been a "bad teaching day" — even on challenging days.
