Biography
Ms. Yvonne Kam is currently lecturer and researcher and in the Faculty of Engineering at Multimedia University (MMU), Malaysia. She has a Masters in Engineering Science (MEngSc) in the topic of Image processing, from Multimedia University (MMU) and a first class Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) Electronics Majoring in Multimedia degree. As part of her research, she has developed and implemented applications for security in authentication.
She has been in academia for more than 10 years, mostly teaching subjects in programming, microprocessors and multimedia technology. As a student’s Final Year project supervisor, she has helped supervise students in developing applications such as graphical authentication methods, online marketplace web and mobile app, eye movement authentication methods and so on.
She has pitched her ideas and received funding under the ICONapps program by the Malaysian government to develop mobile apps. She developed an Android app as part of a team project on security, which won a Silver medal at the International Invention, Innovation and Technology Exhibition (ITEX). She also won awards in national innovation showcases held in MMU.
She publishes her research in local and international conferences. She has held a Malaysian government grant under their Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS) for her research on security authentication.
She is a trainer for courses in Cybersecurity, and is a certified trainer in some ICDL modules.
