Biography
Ms. Elaine received her Master’s degree in Teaching English as Second Language from University of Malaya, Malaysia. Her other academic qualification includes a Bachelor’s degree in English from the same university.
Being a dedicated educator with more than 21 years, Ms. Elaine is currently attached to the Department of English, Faculty of Applied Communication, Multimedia University, Malaysia. She teaches English and Communication Skills in the aforementioned university for more than 14 years to both local and international students from various fields and majors.
Over the years, Ms. Elaine has been a trainer for both internal and external programmes that the university has been involved in. She has been a speaker for Public Speaking Workshop organised by the university as part of the university’s promotional programme for secondary school students. She has also helped different groups of unemployed graduates to improve their English language skills in order to increase their chances of employability through the Graduate Employability Outreach Programme (GEOP) as well as Skim Latihan 1 Malaysia (SL1M) and Telekom Malaysia Executive Leadership Industrial Training (TM ELIT). Furthermore, she was also one of the trainers for the Workplace Communication Skills Programmes to train the non-executives of Multimedia University and employees of government ministries. Since 2016, she has been a certified Trainer of Human Resourse Development Fund (HRDF) for Train-the-Trainer course.
Ms Elaine was also awarded the Excellent Teaching Awards during MMU Staff Award event at Cyberjaya in 2014. She had also the privillage to serve as the Head of English Department for Melaka campus from 2017-2018.
