Dr. Hasni bt Mohd Hanafi is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Management, Multimedia University (MMU), Malaysia, with over two decades of academic and professional experience in accountancy and auditing. She holds a PhD in Internal Audit from Griffith University, Australia, as well as Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Accountancy from Universiti Teknologi MARA. A member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and the Institute of Internal Auditors Malaysia (IIAM), Dr. Hasni has cultivated expertise that bridges rigorous academic scholarship with industry-relevant insights.
In her academic leadership roles, Dr. Hasni has served as Deputy Dean for Academic and Innovative Learning, Program Coordinator for the Master of Accountancy, Chairman of the Centre of Business Excellence, and Internal Auditor for the university’s Quality Management System. Her research spans internal auditing, corporate governance, environmental behaviour, and higher education performance, with publications in indexed journals such as the International Journal of Auditing and Food Research. She has also led and contributed to multiple research grants, including projects on mental health, pro-environmental behaviour, and postgraduate student outcomes.
Beyond teaching and research, Dr. Hasni is actively engaged in industry collaboration, having worked with Telekom Malaysia Berhad on risk maturity assessments, talent management, and feedback systems. She is committed to nurturing future professionals through her supervision of doctoral and master’s students, as well as her delivery of specialised courses in auditing, accounting information systems, and research methodology. Known for her dedication to quality assurance, academic excellence, and impactful scholarship, Dr. Hasni continues to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of the accounting profession and higher education.
