Biography
Tan Gek Siang is a lecturer in the Marketing Management Department, Faculty of Business, Multimedia University. He obtained his Master of Philosophy (Management) and Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) in Marketing Management (First Class) from Multimedia University. He teaches business and management subjects at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. He is currently the Deputy Head of Department (Marketing Management) in the Faculty of Business. In 2018 and 2019, he visited Universitas Mercu Buana in Jakarta, Indonesia as a visiting scholar for a 15-day exchange programme.
He is also a Certified Trainer by the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF), Ministry of Human Resources, Malaysia and a Certified Micro & Small Business Advisor (CMBA) by the Malaysian Academy of SME & Entrepreneurship Development (MASMED), Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia.
He is a member of the Centre of e-Services, Entrepreneurship & Marketing (CESEM) in Multimedia University. His research interests are in Metaverse, virtual reality, augmented reality, tourism marketing, IT adoption and business management. He is actively involving in research projects funded by international, industry, national and university research grants. Outcomes of his research have been published in indexed journals, book chapters and international conference proceedings.
