Biography
Dr. Mohd Fairuz bin Abd Rahim is an Assistant Professor and the former Dean of the Faculty of Management, Multimedia University (MMU). Fairuz completed his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) study in the area of human resource management and organization learning from Monash University. He earned his Master of Philosophy (MPhil.) and Bachelor of Business Administration (First Class Honours) in the areas of organizational learning and management.
Fairuz is a certified Human Resource Development Corporation (HRDC) and Center for Entrepreneurship Development and Research (CEDAR) trainer. He was among the selected few who received direct coaching from Stanford University (USA) D.School professors, where he received his certification as a Design Thinking Trainer. Fairuz is also a certified Practitioner and Trainer for the Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ). He is the Advisor and consultant for Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MARDI) Young Agropreneur Program since 2017, and served as mentor for startups under MMU Startup Scheme.
Fairuz accumulates more than 20 years of teaching and training experience, and was awarded the MMU Best Teaching Staff Award in 2016. His training repertoire includes clients such as Telekom Malaysia, Petronas, Cyberview, Khazanah Nasional, Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat (JKM), Kementerian Pembangunan dan Luar Bandar (KPLB), Kementerian Pertanian dan Industri Makanan (MAFI), Asian Banking School, MMU, and others. He has also trained thousands of participants in Malaysia and overseas.
Fairuz has received numerous research grants and has published research papers in international refereed journals and conference proceedings, particularly in the areas of Strategic Human Resource Management, Learning and Development, Organizational Learning, Learning Organization, and Entrepreneurship.
