Dr. Diyana Mahad is an Entrepreneurship and Innovation Scholar and Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Management, Multimedia University (MMU), Cyberjaya, Malaysia. She holds a Ph.D. in Management from MMU (2025), specialising in nascent entrepreneurial behaviour, effectuation theory, and purpose-driven entrepreneurship (Ikigai).
Her research examines how psychological and contextual factors influence entrepreneurial intention and behaviour, particularly among emerging entrepreneurs in developing economies. She applies quantitative methods including PLS-SEM and mediation analysis in her work, and has published in international journals and presented at global conferences.
Beyond research, Dr. Diyana is an active industry practitioner. She serves as Programme Director at CNERGY, MMU, where she leads executive education and workforce upskilling initiatives with partners including Telekom Malaysia, MDEC, and Yayasan Telekom Malaysia. She is also the founder of Wanderhand Sdn Bhd and a Technical Committee Member for E-Commerce Standards at the Department of Standards Malaysia.
A recipient of the MMU Service Excellence Award for 10 consecutive years, she brings together academic rigour, entrepreneurial experience, and a deep commitment to developing the next generation of purpose-driven entrepreneurs.
