Biography
Dr. Lee Chin Poo is an accomplished academic and researcher with a robust background in computer science and information technology. She earned her Bachelor of Computer Science (Software Engineering) from the University of Putra Malaysia in 2004, followed by an MSc. in Information Technology from Malaysia University of Science and Technology in 2006, and a Ph.D. in Information Technology from Multimedia University in 2015.
Dr. Lee began her career as a lecturer at the Faculty of Information Science and Technology at Multimedia University in 2006 and later ascended to the position of Senior Lecturer in 2018. Later, she served as the Deputy Director of the Office of Academic Development for Excellence in Programmes and Teaching (ADEPT) at Multimedia University, where she spearheaded initiatives to enhance program quality and streamline curriculum design and review processes. In her role as the Consultant and Trainer of Outcome-Based Education, Dr. Lee played a pivotal role in promoting educational excellence.
A Senior Member of IEEE, Dr. Lee holds certification as a Professional Technologist recognized by the Malaysia Board of Technologists and is a member of the International Association of Engineers. She also serves as a Huawei Certified Academy Instructor, Chairperson of the Credit Transfer and Admission Committee, Chairperson of the OBE Champion Committee, and Programme Co-coordinator of the Masters in Information Technology.
Dr. Lee's research interests span artificial intelligence, computer vision, gait recognition, natural language processing, and deep learning. She has led over 20 funded research projects at various levels and has an impressive publication record with more than 100 internationally refereed publications in computer science. In her role as a mentor, Dr. Lee has supervised over 200 undergraduate final year projects and 17 postgraduate projects. Her research team has achieved significant recognition, filing more than 20 copyrights and securing over 10 innovative technology awards. Dr. Lee stands as a distinguished academic, contributing significantly to the advancement of knowledge and technology in her field.
