Mr. Arshad Jamal is currently a Lecturer at the Faculty of Computing and Informatics, Multimedia University, Cyberjaya campus, Malaysia. He has over 17 years of combined academic and industry experience in the field of Information Technology. His over a decade academia experience spawns both locally and internationally as his industry experience. He is currently pursuing his PhD in Information Technology from MMU (expected completion in 2026) and has been awarded the prestigious MMU Achiever’s Research Scholarship. He also holds a Master of Computer Application (MCA) and a Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) from Jamia Hamdard University, India, both of which he completed with scholarship support. His expertise spans software engineering, cloud computing, machine learning, database management, and software project management. His specific research area includes biomedical signal analytics, IoT and mobile applications development. He is actively engaged in cutting-edge studies on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and cloud computing. He has authored multiple research publications, including studies on smart disinfection systems, blockchain applications in biomedical research, darknet forum analysis and has published more than 30 internationally multi-disciplinary refereed conference papers and journal articles. He has also won several research awards including ITEX, MTE and PERINTIS.
Mr. Arshad interests extend beyond academia; he is deeply involved in community-based projects, academic writing, and industry collaboration initiatives. A frequent traveler, he has visited countries such as the UK, Malaysia, China, Vietnam, Thailand, Korea, and Singapore, where he has participated in academic exchanges and research collaborations.
At MMU, he is committed to inspiring and mentoring the next generation of IT professionals. Through his innovative teaching methods, industry-driven research, and collaborative mindset, he aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry, equipping students with the skills and knowledge required to excel in the ever-evolving field of Information Technology.
