Biography
Md Zubair Hassan Tarif (H.T. Zubair) is a seasoned professional specializing in signal processing in IoT (Internet of Things)-enabled instrumentation and measurement devices and the commercialization of innovative technologies. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honors) in Electronics and a Master of Engineering Science degree. His master's dissertation has been filed for a patent and received funding for commercialization through Malaysian government startup scheme, CRADLE U-CIP. Md Zubair has had a successful eight-year career, holding technical and leadership positions in academia and industry. Notably, he developed a real-time radiation dosimetry system for the medical radiation industry, based on his research on optical fiber sensors at Multimedia University. Md Zubair's academic achievements include over 25 articles with over 150 citations in journals on signal processing in medical radiation and machine learning techniques.
Prior to joining the Faculty of Computing and Informatics, Md Zubair led the product development at Lumisyns, while pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (Engineering) at Multimedia University, Malaysia. During his master's studies, Md Zubair was the recipient of the prestigious Erasmus Mundus LEADERS scholarship, awarded by the City, University of London. This scholarship enabled him to participate in an exchange semester at the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering, University of Limerick, Ireland.
Md Zubair’s current research focuses on machine learning techniques for signal processing and cybersecurity in IOT systems, and audio processing/speech recognition applications.
