Zakiah has been an academician at Multimedia University (MMU) since 2007, serving as a Foundation Lecturer in the Social Science and Foreign Language Department under the Institute of Learning for Empowerment (ILE). She teaches MPU subjects including Hubungan Etnik (Ethnic Relations), Malaysian Studies, Peradaban dan Etika (Civilization and Ethics), Integrity and Leadership, as well as Intro to Multicultural Studies in Malaysia and Social & Emotional Health. She has developed self-instructional modules for Peradaban dan Etika and Intro to Multicultural Studies in Malaysia, and contributed resources to support student well-being and ethical leadership.
Beyond academics, Zakiah is a trainer in Grooming and Etiquette for SL1M programs under Telekom Malaysia, Khazanah Nasional, and Bank Islam, and a speaker for the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) on “Introduction to Malaysia”. She also chaired the Integrity and Leadership subject, reflecting her strong commitment to leadership development and integrity education.
