   Biography

Shereen Khan is currently a lecturer of the Law Unit at the Faculty of Management, Multimedia University Malaysia, where she teaches and writes about various legal and social legal issues relating to Business Law, Company Law, and Cyberlaw.

Her current research interests mainly involve cybersecurity and digital rights-related issues. Over the years, she has led several research projects as a Principal Investigator, which were funded by various organisations, including the Law Reform Committee of the Prime Minister's Department of Malaysia, Fundamental Research Grant (FRGS) by the Ministry of Education Malaysia, Fisabilillah R & D Grant (FRDGS), Industrial Research Fund (MMU) and European Union funded research project, among others.

Shereen had contributed to drafting the National Human Rights Action Plan of Malaysia (NHRAP), which highlights the importance of protecting and promoting human rights in the country, and had also been appointed as a co-consultant for a European Union-funded project to study and analyse the compatibility of Malaysian Laws with the International Convention on Civil and Political Rights.

Shereen earned her Bachelor of Laws (Hons.) and Master of Comparative Laws from the International Islamic University of Malaysia and Ph.D. in Law from the National University of Malaysia. She had previously served as a Senior Law Lecturer and a Co-ordinator of External Degree Programmes of New Zealand and Australian Universities at Nilai University Malaysia.

Shereen is also a non-practicing Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya and has significant experience in civil and corporate litigation matters. She also served as a Legal Counsel at the Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration (KLRCA), where she gained valuable experience in alternative dispute resolution (ADR).
