Biography
Dr Sareen Kaur Bhar is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Applied Communication in Multimedia University. She oversees the planning and monitoring of the research direction of the faculty. Sareen is also the Managing Editor of the Journal of Communication, Language and Culture. She is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Applied Communication, MMU. She received her Cert. Ed. (TESL) from Ipoh Teachers’ Training College in 1994. She then completed her B.Ed. (TESL), M.A. (English Language) and PhD (English Language) from Universiti Putra Malaysia. To date, she has had a distinguished corporate career and teaching career spanning over 23 years. She teaches subjects such as Workplace Communication, Business Communication, Advanced Management English, English for Law, and English for Business Studies. Sareen has provided business writing courses, in-house training and communication skills workshops for participants from several government agencies, corporate clients and private organisations. Amongst the courses and programmes are presentation skills, public speaking, effective communication skills, business writing skills, meeting, interview and leadership skills and a host of others in the areas of soft skills training. Sareen’s research areas are language in the workplace, English as a global language and language ideologies.
