Norzarina Md Yatim is a Lecturer in the Department of Accounting, Faculty of Management, Multimedia University (MMU). She teaches a wide range of accounting courses, including Public Sector Accounting, Forensic Accounting, Management Accounting, Professional Ethics, and Financial Statement Analysis. With over 12 years of experience in accounting education, she is passionate about guiding students in developing analytical thinking, ethical judgment, and professional competence in the accounting field.
Norzarina’s research interests span sustainability reporting, governance, digital and financial well-being, public sector accounting reforms, and institutional studies. She has published in Scopus and Web of Science-indexed journals, presented at international conferences, and received Best Paper Awards and Innovation Awards for her research contributions.
She has also led and participated in several national and university research grants, particularly projects related to public sector accountability, financial well-being of low-income communities, and digital transformation initiatives.
Beyond research and teaching, she actively contributes to academic leadership and student development. She currently serves as the Industrial Training Coordinator for the Bachelor of Accounting programme and has previously held various administrative roles including research centre secretary, treasurer, internship coordinator, and student club advisor.
Norzarina holds a Master’s degree in Forensic Accounting and Financial Criminology from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM). She is also an Associate Member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), a Certified HRDF Trainer, and a Certified IBM Enterprise Design Thinking Practitioner.
She welcomes motivated undergraduate and postgraduate students who are interested in research areas such as public sector accountability, sustainability reporting, governance, forensic accounting, and digital financial well-being.
