Maswanhizzly Masri is a Malaysian academic and language lecturer at Multimedia University who has become a familiar voice in national discussions about youth communication, digital behavior, and online safety. He is frequently featured in the media for explaining how unsupervised exposure to social media can affect children by increasing psychological stress, shaping aggressive or overly informal communication habits, and exposing them to inappropriate online content at an early age. He often highlights how these linguistic and behavioral patterns can influence students’ long term ability to communicate clearly and appropriately in academic and professional settings. In addition to his academic work, he serves on the education council of the Malaysia Cyber Consumer Association, where he contributes to efforts that promote responsible digital practices and stronger digital literacy among families. He holds a Master’s degree in English Linguistics and has pursued doctoral studies at Universiti Putra Malaysia. His research interests include sociolinguistics, computer assisted language learning, intercultural communication, forensic linguistics, and crime language, reflecting his commitment to understanding how language operates in both everyday contexts and in sensitive situations such as criminal communication and digital threats.
