Khye is an interdisciplinary strategic technologist and educator. His career spans scientific research, data engineering, and technical education, enabling him to specialize at the intersection of machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data (MAD).
As a passionate educator at FCI, he has taught courses such as "Advanced Databases," "Professional Development," and "Data Mining" to students, researchers, and industry professionals alike. His teaching philosophy rests on three pillars: the integration of theory and practice, close alignment with industry requirements, and a student maturity learning model. He firmly believes that computer science education should go beyond foundational knowledge, fostering the practical skills and problem-solving mindsets essential for professional environments. To this end, he successfully spearheaded the integration of the Huawei HCIA-openGauss certification into the curriculum — first earning the certification himself, then training Malaysian instructors and students, resulting in the first cohort of certified individuals at MMU. This initiative bridged academic learning with industry relevance and improved student employability.
His current research interests include distributed data storage (from distributed RDBMS to big data), legacy modernization, AI orchestration, and enterprise software architecture. He is dedicated to advancing the practical application of data analytics, artificial intelligence, and business intelligence within the social sciences.
