Choo-Yee Ting is currently a Professor in Artificial Intelligence at the Faculty of Computing and Informatics and the research chair for the Centre for Big Data and Blockchain Technologies, Multimedia University. In year 2002, Choo-Yee Ting was awarded the Fellow of Microsoft Research by Microsoft Research Asia, Beijing, China. The project was about deploying machine learning in education settings. Prof. Ting has been active in research projects related to Artificial Intelligence and Big Data. Projects have been funded by MOE, MOSTI, Telekom Malaysia, MDeC, and industries. In year 2014, he and his research team members won two national level Big Data Analytics competitions. Prof. Ting has been invited to knowledge sharing and training related to Artificial Intelligence to various government agencies and companies such as JPA, MOF, INTAN, Telekom Malaysia, OCBC, iFAST, YTL, Prudential Malaysia, and many more. In year 2020, he was invited to support the Selangor COVID-19 initiative through SELANGKAH while in 2021, he was appointed by the Malaysia government as a technical member of the Big Data and Geospatial team under the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme. In 2022, he was appointed by the government to analyse data about healthcare work culture in Malaysia. His service was later required at the Malaysia National Planetary Health Action Plan roadmap. Recently, he was appointed as the task force member of Malaysian Technical Standards Forum Bhd.
